The Importance of Debriefing - Winter Training Session

Volunteering or serving in a context that is different than our everyday environment is difficult. Any time we enter into someone’s personal space we’re confronted with the collision of what we’re experiencing and what we know to this point to be the way things should be. We’re confronted with all kinds of situations that challenge our faith and open ourselves up to just how judgmental we can be.

And, sometimes we’re overwhelmed with feelings of compassion that we didn’t know we had. We go beyond our personal comfort levels and serve with a passion that connects us to the person we’ve always wanted God to reveal to our internal fight of finding purpose.

Regardless of whether our experiences have been good or bad, processing those experiences in a community of safe individuals is vital to our internal transformation to become more Christ-like.

This Saturday, Pastor Joe Johns from Fellowhship Missionary Church will be leading our Winter Training Session on the topic of Debriefing.

I would encourage all of our coaches, church leaders, volunteers and anyone that’s had a challenging experience that’s lingering with you to come and share your story.

This was one of the best sessions we had last year.

Coffee & Donuts will be provided.
