I Dare You To Look

If you want to see what a representative of what need looks like in the Fort Wayne community, take a look over the project list on our website. I encourage or actually dare you to take 5 minutes and read some of the projects people need help with. It might overwhelm your or inspire you to get involved.

The numbers of projects being added to the website continues to increase. We’re up to 150 projects waiting for assistance. That’s 100 new projects in a little over 2 weeks.

Here are a few examples.

46815 - 86yr old senior - needs yard mowed

46806 - Senior - needs to have a window and window sill repaired due to water damage

46806 - Low income family - having plumbing issues in their bathroom in which the drain pipe is broken and leaking water all over their floor. It’s their only bathroom.

46835 - Senior needs gutters cleaned and yard work done.

46802 - Senior is complaining of some electrical outlets not working correct. She’s also having major projects with her basement leaking.

I’m finding it hard to be encouraged at this moment and I’m only receiving these projects to post. I can’t imagine what it’s like to actually be the one with the needs knowing that you’re waiting in faith for strangers and neighbors to come to your rescue.

Join with me in thinking and praying for these folks that their needs will be validated and possibly met. If you find yourself compelled to sacrifice some time and resources, lean into it. You won’t regret it.
