Homeless Woman Needs Your Help

I come to you all again my friends…

Just received a call from a woman that is being evicted from her apartment due to not being able to pay rent. She wasn’t able to pay rent due to her car breaking down and not being able to get to her job and the fact that the bus route didn’t come close to her place of employment.

She is a single 57 year old woman and has literally called all the available options for homeless shelters and there are no options for single woman. Our homeless shelters in Fort Wayne are in sad shape and under-developed for a town our size.  She is now looking for a “safe" place to park her car and to shower/use the restroom to live out of.

I’ve made calls to advocate on her behalf and no luck. I’m not sure what to do about the living situation, but I do know what NLFW can do.. Move her stuff

I desperately need a team of people to move her boxed up stuff out of the apartment and into the shed between now and Sunday.

If you can help, contact me at 710.7611 or andrew@nlfw.org. I cannot help due to obligations with a combined work day with FMC and roofing for another vulnerable woman but I can organize you all.

Thanks in advance for your compassion to this need

Also.. if you are an experienced carpet layer, I have a team of people that need you to help them out this Saturday for a project in which they are helping someone get back on track. They have everything but the skilled leader.
