Homeless Woman Update

Good morning

Wanted to give you an update as of 9:30am regarding Kathlene’s situation.

There are some complex social issues attached to this woman and her situation that have been uncovered as I have interacted with her and interacted with those around her life that have given more insight into the whole story. There is always a whole story.

So, as of right now, NeighborLink is going to step in where we are trained and good at, the moving. We have a time and date set up. This Friday at 6pm we’ll meet at her apartment to begin moving her stuff from her apartment to her storage unit and a neighbors apartment.

As far as helping with finding her sustainable housing and limiting her homelessness, it’s a bit tougher and can’t be rectified quickly. Kathlene has call all the shelters and quickly found out there are no shelters for single women and if a shelter was to bend the rules, there is no space. So, it looks like finding the best place to park her car for a time.

I do know Kathlene has been offered a few options in which she did not take and so I have to discern what the right steps to help will be with her.

Keep you posted.
