Catch up // Blog By Hilary

Just a few things to catch you up on.  Things are really moving along.  I love this internship.  I get to practice my writing, which really is not my forte and I get to interact with people, something I truly love.  Also, Andrew has invited me to some really neat and interesting events.  We went to a meeting compiled of Fort Wayne churches last week which was about the Casino idea coming here.  We really just sat back and listened.  Before NeighborLink, I would have never known about such events that take place around my own community.  So this is a great opportunity.  Also, they had some really good oatmeal raisin cookies at this event (I had about five.)  Haha!

That same day we went to a lunch with fellow service organizations.  This was at a church downtown.  (Excuse me for not remembering names of these places; my short term memory loss tends to get in the way, my apologies.)  This lunch meeting just sets out everything on the table and fills people in about what is going on with their organization.  Neighborhood Health Clinics was there to present its information.  Seems like a very fascinating place!

Currently, I am working on NeighborLink’s annual report with Andrew and a few others.  I will be in charge of interviews and writing stories.  Our spring break is next week, so this will really start when I get back.  I just wanted to reiterate that I am glad to be a part of NeighborLink’s team.  I’m really learning a lot!
