I am participating in United Way’s Real Men Read program as part of their Learn United program. Real Men Read is their attempt to mobilize male leaders in the community to act as a positive influence for children by going to read to 3rd grade classes throughout the school district. Learn United is UW effort to close the acheivement gap in our schools. Studies show that if children aren’t reading at their correct grade level by 3rd grade that they will have a bigger chance to be left behind in future grades.

This is the book I read today. I had a blast. I am reading at Shambaugh Elementary and today was “pajama day." These kids have great questions and had a lot of fun as well. I hope I read ok, but I think I did ok.
