Another Story of How God Provides

Here is a recent email I got from Steve who is a NeighborLink Advisory Group memberand one of key leaders of the Grub and Go team of retired guys at Fellowship Missionary Church. Hearing these types of stories is what is so great about what happens when God’s people respond to the call on their lives. Also the reason I love NeighborLink so much.

GNC Gang and Missional Living Council…(and a couple of others)

Here’s an update on the the request for a refrigerator… at least the story to date…for a story this good God must have more chapters yet to write….and to bless even more people in the process plus show His Glory more fully…

Two Grub and Go guys, Stan and Mikal were dispatched by Arlie to a recipient on Lillie Street; a project he had selected from the NL website.  The need was to install and connect an air conditioner the recipient had obtained.  The guys assessed that the connection needed to be made by a licensed electrician…but while at the recipient’s home discovered, in addition to no AC on these hot days, she also didn’t have a refrigerator plus was also caring for two grandchildren.

Stan and Mikal stated they would try to see what they could do about an electrician for the AC, but were also deeply moved by the lack of a refrigerator…especially with the recipient trying to feed her grandchildren cold cut meat sandwiches with no way to preserve safely the meat.   Stan and Mikal escalated the need for both an electrician and a refrigerator.   Arlie contacts a volunteer electrician; Steve puts out a GNG broadcast request for a refrigerator.  Andrew picks up the GNG request and puts the need out on his several social networks…3 possible refrigerators are offered, plus another person wants to stock the refrigerator with food.  A staff family from FMC donated the refrigerator and it was delivered this Tuesday.  While the delivery was being made, the GNG guys became aware that the recipient’s sewer was plugged and a call was made to our friendly Rick’s Sewer Service who promptly cleared the drain.

The volunteer electrician offers to help make the AC connection but also mentions that a small church is looking for a freezer.  A GNG broadcast request is sent out and within the day one of the GNG guys offers a freezer he “inherited" when he recently bought his house.  Arrangements for moving the freezer are pending.  Arrangements to fill the refrigerator are pending.

I can hardly wait to hear the “rest of the story"….some of which may not be known on this side of Heaven….but it is all Kingdom Living/loving driven…and who is getting blessed?   Someone said it is “more blessed to give than to receive".   Lots of givers are being blessed this past week….
