Students Tweet For Cause

Due to the Haiti earthquake, we’ve changed our focus but still raising funds.

Click here to be directed to an updated post from the HU JTerm class.

Part of the requirements of this J-Term class at Huntington University is for each student to identify a non-profit and/or social cause personal to them and utilize social media tools to raise awareness for that cause. I threw in $100 and encouraged each student to add to the donation pool as they could to provide an incentive to participate.

100% of the funds raised will go to the charity of the student who did the best.

On Tuesday January 19th, I will select the top 5 students who I believe have done the best of utilizing what they’ve learned to use their voice for social good. On Wednesday, January 20th, which is the last day of class the students will vote on which one of the top 5 did the best.

The winner will get to designate the funds to their charity.

If you would like to add to the donation pool in order to provide even more incentive to the students, I encourage you to do so. There is a Paypal account setup for you to donate online. There is a Paypal button at the bottom of this web page.

If you’re not interested in donating but want to help me weigh in on what student is doing the best at raising awareness, you can follow my Twitter list of students or you can follow along at the Facebook group set up for the class and follow the discussions boards.

I hope you will join us by following along.

PS… For transparency purposes. The paypal account is my personal account because I don’t know how to set up anything more temporary. I hope you can trust that I and the students will be responsibly to make a secure transaction of your funding to the cause. I understand if you do not feel comfortable with this. You can access my Linkedin profile to check me out if you would like.
