NPR's StoryCorp is in Fort Wayne

NPR’s StoryCorp unit is in Fort Wayne, IN for the month of July giving nonprofits and residents the opportunity to record whatever stories they want to.

Here is the official “about us" info from their website

StoryCorps is an independent nonprofit whose mission is to provide Americans of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of our lives. Since 2003, StoryCorps has collected and archived more than 30,000 interviews from more than 60,000 participants.

I’m especially excited for them to be here because I’ll have the opportunity to have three recording times for NeighborLink Fort Wayne. This Saturday we will have one of our volunteers carry on a conversation with one of the recipients he’s helped over the past year or so who’s become a friend. I’ll also be interviewing another volunteer myself about his time volunteering with NeighborLink. Then finally, next week, the two founders of NeighborLink will be sharing the story of how NeighborLink got started.

I’m looking forward to seeing these stories develop and sharing them with you once we get them.

Anyone else taking advantage of this unique opportunity?

We live in a historic neighborhood in South Central Fort Wayne. My day job is the Executive Director of NeighborLink Fort Wayne. Photography has quickly become my go to creative outlet that allows me to capture the moments of life that we hold onto dearly for my family and for others.
