NeighborLink Website Think Tank Sessions

Hello friends,

I want to invite you to a think tank session for NeighborLink Fort Wayne’s website, www.NLFW.org on either Wednesday, Feb 24th or Thursday, March 4th from 6:30pm - 8pm at the Rialto Theatre.

We are one of the best tools in Fort Wayne for finding practical, short-term volunteer opportunities. The opportunities not only impact those you serve, but makes our neighborhoods a better place to live.

In 2008, we redeveloped the design of the website to streamline the user experience in order to help our recipients post their projects easier and those looking to volunteer find available projects faster.

But, the member section of our website needs some major work.

In 2003, when NeighborLink first went online, our system was pretty cutting edge. Where else you could go online to find immediate volunteer opportunities? With the rise of social networks, such as Facebook, many people are feeling more comfortable interacting and connecting online. We recognize it’s time to revamp our environment.

You wouldn’t know that we have over 800 registered members on our website from visiting or logging in each time.  We see the potential for redeveloping our website to encourage an online NeighborLink community and by adopting more social network philosophies that could encourage direct collaboration among our volunteers in order to get projects done.

We need your help.

Would you join me in a Think Tank environment?

If you’ve had trouble or ever got lost on the website once you logged in, please come and tell us about it.

If you love social networking such as Facebook, Twitter, etc, then this is your place to share those passions in the hopes of developing a cutting edge volunteer web platform locally in Fort Wayne.

Space is limited to 10 each night. Light refreshments will be provided.

I believe that social innovation & the power of a healthy neighborhood can transform communities. I'm the husband of Michelle, father to Avery and the soon to be twin Hoffman Boys. We're the H-Train. We live in a historic neighborhood in South Central Fort Wayne. My day job is the Executive Director of NeighborLink Fort Wayne. Photography has quickly become my go to creative outlet that allows me to capture the moments of life that we hold onto dearly for my family and for others.
