Minor Miracle

I feel like there were a few minor miracles that took place this past weekend. Just another reminder that I do not control NLFW and how things happen around here.

As of 6:30pm on Friday night, the woman that I told you about in an earlier post who was becoming homeless this past weekend, she was in fact going to be sleeping in her car come Saturday afternoon. After numerous pleas and phone calls, I was unable to find shelter for her.

As I was about to leave with my wife for a Christmas Party, I received a phone call from my boss telling me he was able to find an apartment for her and we would be able to cover a months of rent and see what would happen after that. Let’s just say that was a sign of relief for the evening. That we at least had a short term plan.

I had also heard back from a few volunteers that they could help out financially towards the situation and even help with the moving on Saturday.

Saturday morning came early and I was off to help my friend Jeff/NLFW volunteer who was offering up the moving truck to help out for the day. He had agreed to help a co-worker with some moving first thing and then we’d move on to helping the homeless woman. That project went well too.

During that move I received another call from a NLFWer that mentioned that they would like to offer up one of their vacant houses for her for a couple of months and try to assist the best they could to get her back on her feet. Such an amazing blessing. So we moved her into this place on Saturday.

Without God moving through people and challenging them to step into this situation, we would not have been able to help out. It took almost 10 people being compelled to give a portion of themselves and their belongings to make this happen. Without one of those pieces, who knows what would have happened.

I’m encourage in this season.

Pictures from the move are here.
