Great article on vulnerability. It’s essential to all aspects of the NeighborLink process. Volunteers have to be vulnerable enough to make the decision to help someone else even though the circumstances would suggest them take a different route towards that person. And, the person asking for help has to be vulnerable enough to allow someone to not only help them.
It’s a sensitive and powerful connection between people. It can be messy, blow up in your face, and swear to never be open with another human being ever again. But, when it works… it’ll change your life.
