How to Organize Service Based Initiatives
Calling all church leaders in Fort Wayne, and I’m not just talking about the pastors. I’m interested in those who have a passion to serve but don’t know where to turn to get started. I’m calling you that really wish your church supported NeighborLink Fort Wayne and organized regular service events. I’m calling you who are frustrated with the seemingly inactive position you feel your community has taken.
I admit, I often get frustrated with the same things, but I do know that it can be overcome. It takes a lot of hard work and it most certainly will start with those who are the most frustrated.
This Saturday, Joe Johns from Fellowship Missionary Church and I will be leading a winter training session on how to organize service based initiatives within your churches. We will cover the basics of how to get started, how to best get the support of your church’s staff and how to begin mobilizing your community. Fellowship in 2009 mobilized 400 different members to complete over 150 projects. They have a lot to teach us on how to get outside the walls of our churches and impact the local Fort Wayne community.
Don’t wait for the senior pastor to initiate this type of activity in your church. Figure it out and show them what they’ve been missing out by the increased activity of their congregation.
NeighborLink Fort Wayne is successful because the every day Christ-follower has decided to be intentional and get started with the people they knew would get behind them. It all starts with one project at a time.
I hope you can make it.
Coffee & Donuts will be provided.
