Disclaimers

Do you ever notice how many disclaimers we put on things?

A disclaimer is generally any statement intended to specify or delimit the scope of rights and obligations that may be exercised and enforced by parties in a legally-recognized relationship. In contrast to other terms for legally operative language, the term “disclaimer" usually implies situations that involve some level of uncertainty, waiver, or risk.

Now, there are disclaimers on just about everything telling us what exactly we’re getting into or expect and some are much needed for our protection.

But, how many disclaimers are there as an escape? They often provide a way out or at least offer an explanation for a possible outcome.

What I have noticed recently is the amount of disclaimers we all put on various aspects of our lives. Recently I have noticed how many disclaimers that I use to describe my reason for doing something or more likely, not doing something. Cleverly disguising an excuse for this or that.

I’m trying to figure out how to live disclaimer free. I’m finding it has to do a lot with my character and my level of commitment towards things.

Interested to hear any thoughts on this concept if you have any…
