Community Announcement - Medicare Part D Info

Here is some information I received today that I am encouraged to share with the greater Fort Wayne community regarding people that have Medicare Part D. There is an organization helping explain the new info tomorrow. Info is below.

Tomorrow morning, December 1st,  Indiana News Center (Channel 7) will be doing a “live” remote for their morning news from AIHS headquarters.  AIHS will be hosting a “phone bank” from 6:30 am – 8:00 a.m. in conjunction with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to answer questions people may have about Medicare Part D.

In addition to the phone bank, we will have an open enrollment event from 9am – noon that same day at the Fort Wayne Urban League (2135 S. Hanna).

Special guests Brenda Delgado, External Affairs Liaison for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Cristal Thomas, Regional Director for Health and Human Services, will join us for these events.

Please encourage anyone you know who may have questions about Medicare Part D to call in tomorrow morning

or come to the Urban League and meet privately with a SHIP counselor to compare drug plans.

Open enrollment for Medicare Part D runs from Nov. 15 to Dec. 31 this year. We think that the phone bank and enrollment event  will go a long way to make this process less confusing for people in our area.
