Are You Waiting?

I went to a meeting last night at FMC (home church) with a bunch of new and old friends that are connected to our efforts in Congo. We’ve all been there and want to be a part of a movement towards awareness and justice.

I left that meeting very inspired to do something. Not sure what to do but ready to do whatever it took. Time, finances, skills, abilities, etc. As I got home and began to unwind, I put in the movie “The 11th Hour." It’s another environmental/global warming movie and really focuses in on the scientific side of the issue. It’s a bunch of interview with people that have devoted their careers to studying these issues. It’s a really well done movie and if you pay attention they talk a lot about human life & our existence. Really thought provoking.

I was feeling pretty reflective and creative during this whole time because I realize I was being inspired. I was taking notes from the day and various meetings. As I reflect on this time, I’m left with the idea that we’re all waiting to be inspired.

That deep down inside of us we’re moving towards or I guess we gravitate towards the things that gain our attention and even more so towards the things that inspire us. We see the tremendous potential behind what could be if we only had this or could only be part of that or what would happen if this took place.

I think we’re all waiting be a little inspired and shown how our involvement can evoke change. Without getting political, I see this in the campaign of Barak. He’s calling for change, he communicates our need to unite to the make the story happen, and he’s inspiring those who believe he may be the next president. There are many things out there that are inspiring us, this was just the most relevant instance.

The question is… Are you waiting to be inspired by something?
