What A Week at The Link

It’s been quite a week at NeighborLink with all the activity. We’ve added over 60 new projects since last Thursday to bring our total up to 112 projects. This is by far the most projects we’ve ever added in one week. Many of those are going to be really difficult to find volunteers for, but I believe there are enough opportunities there to make a real impact in a number of lives.

We’ve had two groups of retired guys out doing project and reviewing a number of them for coming weeks. These guys are incredible. They helped finish up a roofing project, swapped a hot water heater, accessed some paint for a family, did some yard work, and are in the process of getting some materials for a wheelchair ramp. It’s inspiring to see these guys at work.

Finally, tomorrow, our largest church partner is organizing their monthly GO Day and will mobilize around 100 people into our community to serve.

Oh, and it looks like we may be putting the leftover sod from the Tincaps special soccer exhibition game tomorrow night to use on Sunday for an elderly woman that needs her yard redone. This is still pending, but I’m hoping for the best.

Despite the difficult life situations many of these recipients find themselves in, there are many opportunities here to see transformation at it’s best.

Let’s get to work!
