View from the Mayor’s Forum myself and Joe Johns attended this morning. The Forum was to bring all the non-profits and faith groups together to continue the dialogue on how best to work with ex-offenders as they are released from correctional facilities and prisons. There will be over 1000 offenders released back to Fort Wayne in 2008 and they need major help getting their feet on the group in a positive way. The faith community including churches should be coming around these folks helping them prevent going back.

An offender is likely to offend again within 21 days if they can’t find sustainable work on average. Huge problem… If prison ministries are your thing, there are a lot of organizations established to plug into.
