TV Experience Follow UP
As I mentioned below, I was on TV last week. I was asked by one of the city’s advocates to be on their monthly public access TV show where they interview various organizations that are making a difference in their own light around the city.
They told me right up front how it was going to go and emailed me a list of questions before hand to be prepped. They told me that it was going to be 30 minutes but will feel like 3, which it did.
I was excited about this opportunity for a big reason. Up to this point, I had been getting to tell the NLFW story in many ways lately through radio and a few news article. Although I got to tell how NLFW works and why it’s important, I hadn’t been given enough time to really highlight the reason NLFW is doing great things, which is the volunteers who actually take on the projects. I finally had a chance to fully communicate that statement.
It was really humbling to be on TV. Here I am, leading this organization that is made of a bunch of people that I don’t directly know that do all the hands on work and they want to know from me what it’s all about. I am quick to be the one to share the message of hope and redemption that we all hope comes from our serving, but I wish I could have had all of you in the room to share your individual stories of service.
Keep doing what you’re doing and although I get to be on TV, your reward is waiting in heaven, which is way more important than being on a public access TV show where you end up feeling all weird cause you’re on TV.
