“There’s a 22% proposed cut to Head Start this year. That’s about $1.2 million,” said Hoffman. “If I don’t have that funding, I can’t serve the same number of kids I’m serving today.” Hoffman added he’s confused about such proposed cuts in a time when non-profit organizations like CANI are needed the most. “They’re deep to a level that would really significantly impact the services that we can provide,” he said.”
CANI lays off 5, braces for more cuts
This is too bad. It will likely result in an opportunity for NeighborLink volunteers to step in and help somehow. It will largely fall on the volunteers to initiate, but what an opportunity to step in when things get tough.
