Recent Stories from Projects

Thought I would share a few stories from thankful recipients that have called to thank those who did the projects.

NE Side of Town - Home Improvements

There is a woman on the NE side of town that had a variety of needs such as painting, wallpaper put up, attic stairs needed fixed, ceiling fan repairs, yard work, gutter cleaning, and mowing. She has a disability that limits her from doing these things and has grown sons that are not at home anymore with one in the military and the other working too many jobs to provide help. Two teams have helped her out and completed just about everything that was thrown at them. She emailed me a number of times thanking everyone for the willingness to help out. Great job teams!

SE Side of Town - Yard Work

This is a story about a connection made through a church small group. There was a woman that was unable to do the hard work of digging out some roots in her yard, so another gentleman from her small group decided to help her out. He called me asking for volunteers, I posted the project for a recent GO Day, and they tackled the project and did an amazing job. She called and couldn’t get over the generosity of the guys that showed up and did the work. One of the men even brought his young son to help out and she mentioned he worked just as hard as the other men. Great job team and this story shows that there are projects available to get your kids involved in serving.

NE Side of Town - Interior Cleaning

This is a story about an elderly woman who called me needing her house cleaned. She told me that her family is just too busy to help her out around the house. So, I posted the project hoping that someone would help her out. A good friend of mine actually said that he wanted to try coaching and went to the NLFW project site and found this project. I was proud of my friend for taking the initiative and was appreciative of the job they did as well. We actually received a card from this woman sharing her appreciation for the job well done. Great job team and thank you for serving!

These are just a few of the stories from recent projects. I hope you all know that you are making a difference or can make a difference in someones life just by mowing their yard or cleaning their house.  If you’ve experienced the joy in serving and have been missing it, now is a good time to be filled up again.
