Playing for Change // Blog by Hilary

I recently came across this video and others like this through an organization called Playing for Change.  One of my favorite wonders about life is music.  So much can be said, learned, and moved just through simple tunes.  Music comes from peoples’ hearts and from their souls and it allows others to reach inside themselves and find a shared meaning or interest in what is being conveyed.  This foundation has been made to join musicians from all over the world. It is currently supporting a music school in South Africa.  Also, it is working to help rebuild the Tibetan Refugee Centers in India and Nepal.  It’s a great cause that is bringing people together.  If you want to look more into it their website is http://www.playingforchange.org/.  I believe one goal NeighborLink is trying to promote is ultimately bringing people together in some shape or form.  Sometimes it is through service and sometimes, like Playing for Change, it is through music.  However it may be done, peace among each other with God’s help will keep this world sane.

I believe that social innovation & the power of a healthy neighborhood can transform communities. I'm the husband of Michelle, father to Avery and the soon to be twin Hoffman Boys. We're the H-Train. We live in a historic neighborhood in South Central Fort Wayne. My day job is the Executive Director of NeighborLink Fort Wayne. Photography has quickly become my go to creative outlet that allows me to capture the moments of life that we hold onto dearly for my family and for others.
