NeighborLink Fort Wayne & Habitat for Humanity of Fort Wayne Form Collaboration

Here is an official press release for a new collaboration between NeighborLink Fort Wayne and Habitat for Humanity. I’m really excited to announce this new initiative between our two organizations.

NeighborLink Fort Wayne and Habitat for Humanity of Fort Wayne have formed a collaboration to support each other’s efforts to tackle Fort Wayne housing issues for low-income families. They will be coordinating efforts and sharing resources in order to make a bigger collective impact in the community of Fort Wayne.

This collaboration will allow NeighborLink volunteers to secure discounted materials at Habitat’s ReStore and in turn will provide an outlet for NeighborLink donors to send their materials or building products.

NeighborLink and Habitat will also be coordinating their efforts to provide a more holistic neighborhood development approach. As Habitat chooses their build sites, NeighborLink will also begin mobilizing volunteers to complete the projects waiting on assistance in the same neighborhoods.

Andrew Hoffman, Executive Director of NeighborLink says, “our hope at NeighborLink is to facilitate neighborhood development and by coordinating efforts with Habitat, we’re going to be able to do that even more. It makes sense for us to concentrate our collective power and really make visible change for those that need it most in the neighborhoods that need it most.”

Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director Justin Berger added, “we have brought together two non-profit organizations that have a passion for helping others, and directly impacting the community in which we live, by providing the means to something many of us take for granted every day…a decent, affordable home that is structurally sound. Through this partnership we hope to improve and stabilize many neighborhoods throughout the city.”
