If your social activism doesn’t lead toward personal transformation in the way of Jesus then something crucial is missing. Within Access we speak of activism and spiritual formation as going hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly and we’ve seen the effects of how those two values play off of one another.

Here is a great quote/blog post from a friend of mine in Denver, CO. He describes his vocation like this, “I work in the intersection of poverty and middle classers and lead discussions about Jesus in the midst of it all.”

I have a lot of the same thoughts that he shares in his post. His thoughts lead to the reason why there are so few people that live in this gap/tension.
