Fort Wayne's Great American Cleanup Event Info

Here is information pulled from the City of Fort Wayne’s website about the May 15th Great American Cleanup event. NeighborLink is in full support of our volunteers joining the cause and helping out as a unified Fort Wayne force to clean this city up. Over 4,000 volunteers cleaned up over 200,000 pounds of trash and debris last year.

The City of Fort Wayne will once again participate in the Great American Cleanup. This year with the theme of “Green Starts Here," thousands of volunteers from neighborhoods, businesses, schools, faith-based organizations and other groups will be cleaning parks, trails, neighborhoods and other locations May 15 with a post-cleanup party at Headwaters Park East. Register by April 9 to ensure supplies of trash bags, gloves and t-shirts. Supply pick-up will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 8 or noon to 6 p.m. Monday, May 10 at Street Light Operations, 335 E. Murray St.

There won’t be an official NeighborLink team where we’ll be organizing all of our volunteers, but there will be a whole lot of NeighborLink inspired folks out and about. I will be busy helping my wife with our new baby due on May 3rd.

We can even consider creating an opportunity for us all to connect at the celebration that afternoon.

I encourage you to register. You can access the registration form or register online by April 9th by clicking this link.

If you are planning on coordinating a team and would be open to having more volunteers join your teams, let me know and I can communicate for to our volunteer network. Help others get involved by being open for them to join you.

Thanks,

Andrew
