Community Garden Project - Finished Beds

This Saturday over 30 neighborhoods who reside in the Williams Woodland neighborhood joined together to build 14 raised garden beds.

We helped secure the lumber through our relationship at Home Depot. Home Depot never ceases to amaze me by their willingness to partner with the community and NeighborLink. They donated half the material costs for this project.

Zahm Excavating donated the dirt and we’ve secured plant donations from a variety of locations through Fort Wayne.

Saturday was a long day with work beginning at 10am and not stopping until 6pm. It was a long and hot afternoon. It’s safe to say that this project was bigger than we all realized once we were finished.

Over the next week, we are all to have our beds cultivated and planted before it’s too late.

Andrew Hoffman
I believe that social innovation & the power of a healthy neighborhood can transform communities. I'm the husband of Michelle, father to Avery and the soon to be twin Hoffman Boys. We're the H-Train. We live in a historic neighborhood in South Central Fort Wayne. My day job is the Executive Director of NeighborLink Fort Wayne. Photography has quickly become my go to creative outlet that allows me to capture the moments of life that we hold onto dearly for my family and for others.
