Advisory Group Meeting 1

Last night was night 1 of two for the informational meetings I’m holding to gauge interest in being a part of a NLFW Advisory Group and although it was a small group who showed up, I was extremely encouraged by those that did come. They represented a great cross-section of the people that make NLFW what it is.

We had church leaders, long time volunteers, newer volunteers that serve with their family, a retired person that has done so much for the Hope City efforts, a brother of mine from my small group, and my wife.

When I volunteered with NLFW and during the interview process, there was so much about the organization that I didn’t know about. The behind the scenes information that makes NLFW what it is. So, the meeting was part organizational history lesson, operational efforts, and what an advisory group would look like.

I’m not sure where we’ll end up with it all, but last night did confirm the fact that an advisory group is the right thing to be working towards.

I’ll post more after tonight’s meeting. If you want to come, it’s an open meeting and starts at 6:30p at the Rialto Theatre on S Calhoun St. There will even be free tacos!
