A partnership between the city, local banks and credit unions could help thousands of Fort Wayne residents open bank accounts, learn financial skills and avoid a paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle.

This is a good idea and I hope many will take advantage. Like every other great idea, it’s going to take a lot of work to implement. I hope there are boots on the ground to implement it because we need to stop the crazy payday lending racket. Upwards of 400% interest on those things.

Oh, and the Church of Fort Wayne has a role to play. Try to figure out what role that is for your church. This is an easy way to help empower those coming through your doors asking for help.
