6.25 - Message From The Link
I wish you could experience what I get to experience everyday. NeighborLink Volunteers & Coaches are blessing this community and people are intrigued by it.
Nothing pleases me more as the director of NeighborLink than getting the opportunity to see people tilt their head to the side while pondering the idea that volunteers actually take initiative by choosing their own projects and find ways to get them done. In reality, I’m absorbing the love and support that you should be receiving for your service to our community through NeighborLink, your church and any other efforts you lead in your lives. I can’t fully express my gratitude for your selfless giving and your pursuit of ongoing relationships with our recipients.
I trust that your involvment is the result of your obedience to the Lord and a practical way of living out your faith in him.
2 Corinthians 9:12-13
12This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.
Thanks for your service. Continue to be faithful.
Here is a list of things I want to share with you briefly and encourage you to participate in or be aware of. There are a lot of great things to know of.

Urgent Tub Project - Taken & Almost Done
You can read the full update here, but know that a NL coach stepped in, installed the new tub including hooking up the plumbing, and had a great time getting to know this family. The entire family has had major health issues. The best part, they want to help serve by taking some yard projects! Just another case where anyone in any situation can serve another person. This project was refered to us by a partner organization, Turnstone.
Access TV Apearance
I had another great opportunity to represent NL on Access TV by being interviewed by SAVE. SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) is a student driven organization. Students learn about alternatives to violence and practice what they learn through school and community service projects. I’m excited to partner with these students through the summer and next school year. The entire show was run by kids in middle & high school with a superviser. They did awesome and were professional. This program is working.
Airs this Friday at 7:30p - Access TV 55, 57, & 58
Twitter - Washer & Dryer
Through the wonderful world of @Twitter I have had the opportunity to pass along NL projects and see if anyone would step into them and I’ve had two people take projects that only know about NL through Twitter. Just last week, one of my followers messaged me and wanted to know if he could donate a washer & dryer, in which I said, of course. I didn’t know where it would go yet, but I knew it would have a home sooner or later.
I call super coach, Jeff Shatto, to see if he could help me get them picked up. Guess what? He knew of a place they could go. A daycare operation for single moms in SE Fort Wayne. So cool how it all works out sometimes.
Even washers & dryers have a divine purpose when offered up to the Lord or for someone else’s benefit.
July 20th - GO Day - Results
Fellowship Missionary mobilized 16 groups of volunteers to tackle projects. Everything from yard work, exterior painting, and interior house repairs. I spent the day with some friends helping Jean get her yard in order. 3 loads of limbs & debris removed and more to go. There was even poison ivy involved. It’s all part of the cause. Join me on a project day sometime.
