We’re excited about these numbers so far this year and overwhelmed by the amount of volunteer effort that’s gone into getting the 157+ projects completed.
157+ Projects may not seem like that many until you realize all that goes into completing a NeighborLink project. We’re not the ordinary volunteer spot.
We’re merely a web-based facilitator that allows those that want to help connect to places to serve and then we get out of the way to let that happen. Our coaches and volunteers actually select the project they desire to do and connect directly to the person requesting assistance. NeighborLink then is positioned to help that leader if needed.
So, these 157 projects were completely figured out by a passionate group of people that put all their effort in making sure the recipient received the assistance they needed. What we find through this model is that a relationship between volunteers and recipients developa and that recipient has a great chance of being adopted by those volunteers who often go back to help with other projects.
It’s a beautiful process.
