More Renovations

My realtor friend, Joe, just purchased a couple more homes to be completely renovated and restored. One is just a few houses down from my own and the other, just a few blocks.

Both homes represent transitional periods and for me, have a sense of redemption about to happen. In each home, life and circumstances got the best of the previous owners/tenants. The stability of the glue that holds life together grew weak and caused the families to fall away from the thing that kept them safe and connected for so long. It's hard to know when life thrived the last time in it because of its current condition.

The circumstances that led one owner to loose the property to the new owner are far too complicated to ever quite figure out, but this transition brings new life into these homes that are close to 100 years old. These images are meant to document what was in order to remember where they came from once they arrive at where they're going.

As a person of faith, these photo shoots have a spiritual component for me. They illustrate the same transformation that I have been through and attempt to go through on a daily basis. Take what was broken and try to make it better.

These homes are going to be fantastic. Will they be perfect? No, probably not. However, they will full of stories and character that will remind their new owners of their history and help them appreciate the future.
