Family Vacation
For the last three years we've gone to South Haven, MI for family vacation with my wife's whole family. Each year it's a little crazier because we keep adding more kids to the mix, but it works out great and we all end up having a good time.
We love South Haven because it's just under 3 hours away and gives our kids (who've never been to the ocean) a "big water" experience and it feels like a beach vacation, which my wife loves.
We've also found the trick of going the week right after Labor Day. Rental houses are half the cost, it's still warm, the beach is desolate, and the water is always cold.
Give it a shot next year if you're looking for places to go.
All photos were either iPhone or GoPro Hero 3+. I used the GoPro exclusively at the beach and the waterproof case was perfect. Those things take some good and fun pictures.
